HV Electrical Engineer
Our client's energy transition department are currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer for their HV Cable Termination and Testing Service. This position will be based in Aberdeen and will be a full-time permanent position.
Responsibilities of the HV Electrical Engineer:
- Lead projects onsite.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports by providing technical expertise to the project teams.
- Responsible for overseeing daily site operations.
- Ensure QA and HSE requirements are met.
- Assist with preparation of tenders including preparation of method statements and equipment lists.
- Attend client visits to provide technical support to Business Development.
- Oversee general daily functional performed / assigned to subordinates.
- Provide on-the-job monitoring of tasks and activities.
- Empower subordinates in achievement of tasks.
- Encourage and develop team relationships.
- Assist in the development of the BMS with respect to electrical engineering, including forms, risk assessments and method statements.
- Ensure compliance with Quality and HSE Management System by ensuring that all operational requirements are performed and completed in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Assist in the development of suppliers for electrical termination and testing equipment as well as HV and FO termination and testing contractors.
- Ensure daily Tool Box Talks are held onsite with all work teams under their control and that PPE is suitable to meet job requirements.
- Write reports including inputs to all project related documentation – e.g. Project Quality Plans, Project Risk Assessments, Safe Job Analysis and Management Reports.

Qualifications Required:
Essential:
- BTEC Diploma (Level 4), City & Guild, or HNC in Electrical Engineering.
- Possession of / or the ability to get an RUK Wind Turbine Medical Certificate.
- Possession of / or the ability to get GWO Certificate.
Desired:
- Electrical Installation.
- Fibre Optic Cabling and Termination.
- HV Cable Jointing.
Experience Required:
Essential:
- Leading onsite delivery of HV IAC and Fibre Optic T&T for the renewables industry, preferably offshore.
- Sound technical knowledge of HV IAC and Fibre Optic T&T operations and equipment used.
Desired:
- Experience in electrical installations or maintenance for offshore O&G installations.
- Experience within the project environment.
