Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Slickline Operators, Senior Slickline Operators and Slickline Supervisors to support onshore and offshore well intervention operations in Nigeria.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering safe, efficient and reliable slickline services, with responsibilities dependent on position level and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Slickline Operator
The Slickline Operator provides operational support to slickline activities under the direction of the Senior Operator and/or Supervisor.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with rig-up and rig-down of slickline equipment.
- Prepare, maintain and inspect slickline tools and equipment.
- Support running and retrieval of downhole tools.
- Operate slickline equipment as instructed.
- Carry out equipment checks and report any issues.
- Complete assigned operational tasks safely and efficiently.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings and risk assessments.
Experience Level:
Suitable for candidates with practical slickline experience who can work effectively as part of a well intervention crew.
Senior Slickline Operator
The Senior Slickline Operator independently performs slickline operations and provides technical support to the slickline crew and Supervisor.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Lead slickline equipment preparation and operational activities.
- Operate slickline units during well intervention operations.
- Run, retrieve and manipulate downhole tools.
- Monitor operational parameters and identify potential issues.
- Troubleshoot equipment and operational challenges.
- Ensure equipment is correctly maintained and ready for service.
- Support and mentor Slickline Operators.
- Assist the Supervisor with job execution and reporting.
Experience Level:
Experienced slickline professional capable of performing operations with minimal supervision and supporting junior crew members.
Slickline Supervisor
The Slickline Supervisor is responsible for the overall supervision and safe delivery of slickline operations, ensuring compliance with client requirements, operational procedures and HSE standards.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Lead and supervise slickline crews during onshore and offshore operations.
- Review job procedures, operational programmes and risk assessments.
- Conduct pre-job meetings, toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Coordinate activities with client representatives and other site personnel.
- Ensure slickline equipment, pressure control equipment and tools are prepared, tested and certified.
- Monitor operational performance and make decisions during operations.
- Manage operational challenges and provide technical direction.
- Ensure accurate completion of service reports and job documentation.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and client HSE requirements.
Experience Level:
Highly experienced slickline professional with proven supervisory capability and responsibility for safe execution of well intervention activities.
General Requirements (All Positions)
- Proven experience in slickline operations within the oil & gas industry.
- Experience working onshore and/or offshore environments.
- Knowledge of slickline tools, equipment and well intervention practices.
- Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Ability to work effectively within a multicultural operational environment.
- Available for immediate mobilisation.
All candidates must have:
- Valid Offshore Survival Certificate (BOSIET/FOET or equivalent)
- Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
- Valid Yellow Fever Vaccination Certificate
- Valid passport and ability to mobilise to Nigeria
- Previous oil & gas slickline experience
