Number of Positions: Up to 1 consultant
Our client is seeking expert-level petroleum engineering and reservoir management support from seasoned professionals with 25+ years of experience . Based on-site in Bahrain , this office-based role focuses on enhancing reservoir performance, optimizing production, and executing well intervention and field development plans. The consultant will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver production targets, ensure value assurance, and support long-term asset development.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Reservoir & Production Engineering Support
– Develop and implement surveillance strategies for monitoring well and reservoir performance.
– Identify and assess production enhancement opportunities via well interventions.
– Prepare and review well intervention proposals, particularly for shut-in (SI) wells.
– Conduct nodal analysis, inflow performance modeling, and artificial lift optimization.
B. Value Assurance & Technical Reviews
– Lead or contribute to Value Assurance Reviews (VARs) for subsurface and technology deployment.
– Validate dynamic reservoir models, production forecasts, and economic assessments.
– Provide technical expertise on Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR), Improved Oil Recovery (IOR), and Waterflood Reservoir Management (WRM) strategies.
C. Drilling & Completion Integration
– Collaborate with the drilling team to define well objectives and functional requirements.
– Evaluate and recommend fit-for-purpose well completion designs.
– Ensure well integrity and compliance with standards in all new well developments.
D. Field Development & WRM
– Support planning and execution of field development activities, including depletion and recovery strategies.
– Participate in WRM reviews and contribute to long-term reservoir management planning.
– Recommend cost-effective solutions aimed at reducing OPEX and maximizing recovery.
E. Mentoring & Knowledge Transfer
– Mentor junior engineers through on-the-job training and technical guidance.
– Document and disseminate best practices, technical guidelines, and lessons learned.
Requirements
– Minimum 25 years of relevant experience in petroleum engineering and reservoir management.
– Proven background in production optimization, field development planning, and well interventions.
– Preferably with experience in operator-side roles
– Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach to multi-disciplinary work.
