Upstream Overview
We are seeking an experienced drilling professional with strong expertise in borehole enlargement (underreaming) operations, particularly involving Rhino XM 8000 technology. The successful candidate will support drilling operations and provide technical expertise in underreaming applications across drilling projects in West Africa.
- Location: Ivory Coast and/or Nigeria
- Start Date: Planned for 1 October 2026
- Duration: Approximately 6 months
Key Responsibilities
- Execute and support borehole enlargement (underreaming) operations.
- Operate, maintain, and provide technical support for Rhino XM 8000 and related underreaming technologies.
- Ensure safe and efficient deployment of drilling tools in accordance with operational requirements.
- Collaborate with drilling teams to optimize hole enlargement performance and mitigate operational risks.
- Provide technical guidance on underreaming applications and troubleshooting in the field.
Required Experience
Candidates must have proven experience in borehole enlargement (underreaming) applications and should possess knowledge of one or more of the following technologies:
- Single Ball Drop Technologies
- Double Ball Drop Technologies
- On-Demand Flow Technologies
- Rathole Eliminator (RHE) Technologies
Experience with any of the above sub-applications will be considered. Candidates should also have experience working with Rhino XM 8000 underreaming technology or similar drilling tool systems.

Suitable candidates may come from disciplines such as:
- Drilling Specialist
- Drilling Tools Engineer
- Well Engineer
- Directional Driller
- MWD/LWD Engineer
- Drilling Operations Engineer
Previous experience with drilling tools, underreamers, bits, jars, or related well construction equipment would be advantageous.
