Position Overview

A major Oil & Gas Services Company operating in Saudi Arabia is seeking 2 experienced Fracturing Mechanical Technicians to support its hydraulic fracturing operations.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, repair, servicing, troubleshooting, and preparation of mechanical equipment used in hydraulic fracturing operations.

The role requires strong hands-on mechanical experience with high-pressure pumping equipment, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, manifolds, power units, and associated fracturing equipment. The successful candidates will work closely with Fracturing Supervisors, Equipment Operators, Engineers, and other maintenance personnel to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hydraulic fracturing equipment.
  • Inspect, service, repair, and maintain fracturing pumps, blenders, hydration units, chemical systems, manifolds, valves, power units, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Conduct pre-job and post-job inspections of fracturing equipment.
  • Assist with equipment rig-up, rig-down, function testing, and pressure testing.
  • Maintain high-pressure pumping equipment and associated mechanical systems within approved operating parameters.
  • Inspect and maintain pumps, valves, piping, manifolds, treating iron, hoses, fittings, and pressure-containing equipment.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including hydraulic pumps, motors, cylinders, hoses, and associated components.
  • Maintain diesel engines, gearboxes, transmissions, cooling systems, lubrication systems, and other mechanical drive systems.
  • Carry out scheduled servicing, lubrication, filter changes, adjustments, and component replacements.
  • Identify equipment wear, damage, leaks, vibration, overheating, and other mechanical abnormalities.
  • Dismantle, inspect, repair, rebuild, and reassemble mechanical components as required.
  • Use mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Carry out alignment, torqueing, measurement, and adjustment activities where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, servicing, and equipment condition.
  • Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are properly maintained, calibrated where required, and safely stored.
  • Maintain adequate stocks of critical spare parts and consumables and report shortages to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Work closely with Fracturing Equipment Operators and Electronic Technicians to identify and resolve equipment issues.
  • Participate in pre-job meetings, toolbox talks, risk assessments, and safety briefings.
  • Support emergency response activities when required.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company and client procedures.
  • Perform other duties reasonably assigned by the Maintenance or Fracturing Supervisor.

The successful candidates should have practical experience with some or all of the following:

  • Hoses, fittings, and high-pressure connections

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Technician / Mechanic within the Oil & Gas, Well Services, or heavy industrial sector.
  • Previous experience supporting hydraulic fracturing equipment is highly desirable.
  • Strong hands-on experience maintaining heavy mechanical equipment.
  • Experience with high-pressure pumping equipment, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, pumps, valves, and mechanical drive systems.
  • Experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience working in remote oilfield or other demanding industrial environments.
  • Ability to work safely and effectively during extended field operations.
  • Strong commitment to HSE and equipment reliability.
