Job Overview
We are seeking two experienced Drilling Rig Supervisors to join a major Oil & Gas Services Company on an initial three-month contract, with the possibility of further extension depending on operational requirements and performance.
The successful candidates will be responsible for supervising drilling rig operations, ensuring safe and efficient execution of drilling activities, maintaining compliance with company procedures and industry standards, and coordinating personnel and equipment to achieve operational targets.
Candidates with previous experience working in Saudi Arabia, particularly within the oil and gas sector, will be highly preferred.
Job Description:
- Undertakes all responsibility of drilling and workover operations representing KJO and working on board drilling rig on 24 hours a day. Directs and supervises drilling service contractors. Frequently communicates with onshore base and regularly reports operational progress and status. Controls drilling materials, supplies and service contractors’ arrangement. This position shall be Offshore or Onshore rotation position.
- Applies approved section policies, processes, and procedures and monitors adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner.
- Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Section to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures.
- Liaises with contractors to discuss and coordinate daily drilling & workover operations and monitors & inspects contractors’ activities to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of contract
- Reviews, checks and compiles daily work reports /field service report prepared by contractors on concerned work progress and reports to the Supervisor
- Directs and controls drilling and workover operations, rig move, services and emergency responses on board drilling rig on a 24 hours a day basis.
- Frequently communicates with onshore base. Instructs and supervises drilling services provided by contractors. Inspects and checks drilling rig, equipment, material stock, and work performance of onboard crew, and instructs service contractors repair and maintenance activities on the rig.
- Provides drilling service contractor with detailed operation procedures and requirements at every step of drilling and workover operations.
- Ensure the KJO’s materials and equipment are properly utilized, handled and stored.
- Ensures that Contractor maintains the rig and their equipment at maximum efficiency minimizing down-time.
- Coordinates and supports drilling and workover operations, rig move and anchor handling/tug/supply boats’ and helicopters’ activities at onshore base on a 24 hours a day basis.
- Prepares and delivers daily drilling and workover operation report including various drilling parameters, 7 day look ahead plan, material supply and consumption, costs, and other associated information
- Minimum 8 years of experience with 4 years in a supervisory position as a Rig Supervisor
