Drilling Database Admin Consultant – 1-Year Contract (Kuwait)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Drilling Database Admin Consultant to join our client’s operations in Kuwait for a 1-year engagement. Under broad direction, the consultant will apply strong technical expertise in Landmark EDM/EDT Suite applications to support complex drilling engineering activities, database administration, and data quality optimization.

This role requires a solid understanding of oil and gas industry workflows, drilling data systems, and Landmark software. The ideal candidate will act as a key interface between technology and operations, ensuring seamless integration, configuration, and performance of drilling data environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, administer, and maintain Landmark EDM and EDT Suite applications.

  • Manage EDM databases (Oracle, SQL Server), ensuring accuracy, integrity, and performance.

  • Provide drilling engineering support and data-driven performance enhancement.

  • Lead problem identification and resolution related to EDM/EDT data workflows.

  • Implement and socialize new technologies aligned with client and project requirements.

  • Collaborate directly with clients on customization and configuration projects.

  • Participate actively in the Drilling Excellence & Standards Team, connecting technology and operations.

  • Develop and maintain best practices for EDT configuration, administration, and implementation.

  • Support Landmark sales and project teams in promoting new EDM/EDT technologies and initiatives.

  • Provide onsite mentoring and knowledge transfer to end users and technical teams.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Engineering or Computer Science.

  • Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience with EDM/EDT Suite and related database administration.

  • Proven expertise in:

    • Windows Server configuration and administration.

    • Database administration: Oracle and SQL Server.

    • Landmark EDM, EDT, IMPT platforms.

  • Strong skills in process mapping, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.

  • Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational abilities.

  • Ability to lead small teams, manage workloads effectively, and maintain a client-focused approach.

  • Strong English language proficiency and professional interpersonal skills.
