Field Development Lead (FDL) – DrillOps Automation
This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll combine technical expertise, project delivery, and on-site coaching to maximise automation performance. You’ll act as the critical link between field operations, clients, and support teams—ensuring DrillOps delivers measurable, sustained improvements in drilling efficiency.
Leadership & Delivery

Lead on-site DrillOps deployment across hypercare and steady-state operations

Serve as the primary interface between rig teams, clients, and remote support centres

Drive seamless transition to SaaS-based operations and long-term adoption

Champion change management, crew alignment, and field engagement
Automation & Optimisation

Configure and optimise DrillOps Automate, Orchestrate, and Advise systems

Collaborate with Drillers, DD/MWD specialists, and Well Engineers to refine automation performance

Input and manage well plans via DrillPlan DDP or manual configuration
-
Align RCS parameters and automation settings to maximise efficiency

Monitor, analyse, and continuously improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
Technical & Operational Support

Oversee installation, setup, and connectivity of DrillOps systems on-site

Lead troubleshooting across hardware, software, and operational workflows

Ensure system integrity through software updates and IT infrastructure management

Provide structured feedback to support ongoing product and system enhancements
Coaching & Stakeholder Engagement

Train and coach rig crews to drive full utilisation of DrillOps capabilities

Build strong client relationships and communicate performance insights clearly

Deliver daily and sectional reports aligned with operational standards

Support post-run and end-of-well performance reviews
Experience
-
Proven background in drilling operations (rig environment essential)

Experience in directional drilling, wellsite supervision, or drilling engineering

Exposure to drilling automation or digital oilfield technologies
Skills

Strong project management and organisational capability

Confident communicator with the ability to influence, coach, and lead in the field

Hands-on, solution-oriented technical mindset

Comfortable working with digital systems and emerging technologies

Able to operate independently in high-pressure, remote environment
