Upstream We are seeking highly experienced Directional Drillers and Directional Drilling X-Train personnel to support a range of onshore and offshore drilling projects across the ACE region.
Successful candidates will have a strong track record in directional drilling operations, with proven deepwater experience and the ability to work safely and effectively in challenging drilling environments. Candidates should be technically competent, safety-focused, and capable of working as part of a multidisciplinary drilling team.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute and supervise directional drilling operations in accordance with approved well programmes and company procedures.
- Provide technical expertise and operational support throughout the drilling phase.
- Operate and interpret directional drilling and survey equipment.
- Monitor well trajectory and make appropriate recommendations to maintain the planned well path.
- Work closely with the Drilling Engineer, Company Man, Wellsite Supervisor, MWD/LWD personnel and other service providers.
- Identify potential drilling and wellbore challenges and provide timely technical solutions.
- Ensure all directional drilling activities are conducted safely, efficiently and in compliance with applicable standards.
- Maintain accurate operational, survey and reporting documentation.
- Participate in pre-job planning, risk assessments, toolbox talks and post-job reviews.
- Support troubleshooting and optimisation of drilling performance.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of wellbore positioning, anti-collision requirements and directional drilling principles.
- For offshore assignments, work effectively within the offshore installation’s operational and safety requirements
Deepwater Experience
- Deepwater experience is a mandatory requirement for these positions. Candidates should be able to demonstrate previous hands-on experience supporting directional drilling operations on deepwater wells, preferably in complex well profiles and challenging offshore environments.
