Operational & Technical Duties

Plan, program, and execute directional drilling operations in coordination with drilling engineers.

Monitor and adjust well trajectory using downhole drilling tools and measurement while drilling (MWD) systems.

Interpret downhole data to make informed directional decisions and maintain target well path.

Diagnose and resolve downhole drilling issues and optimize drilling performance.

Ensure proper selection and use of drilling motors, stabilizers, drill collars, and survey tools.

Liaise with the drilling crew and service providers to ensure accurate and timely information flow.

Prepare and evaluate directional drilling reports and daily activities.

Execute drilling programs in accordance with approved plans and geological targets.
Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with Company HSE standards, client requirements, and regulatory legislation.

Conduct and participate in safety meetings, pre-job risk assessments, and toolbox talks.

Promote safe working practices and enforce safety protocols always.
-
Ensure equipment is maintained in safe operational condition.
Proven experience as a Directional Driller in offshore drilling operations (minimum 5–8+ years preferred).
Strong background with directional drilling tools, survey instruments, and software (e.g., gyro tools, MWD systems).
Experience in West African offshore operations (especially Gabon) is a strong advantage.
Track record of safely executing complex well trajectories.
