Drilling Fluid Specialists required for Deep Water Projects in Angola, Congo and Namibia.
Responsibilities:
• Drilling Fluid System Design: Develop and design drilling fluid systems that meet the specific requirements of each drilling operation. This includes selecting the appropriate fluid type, additives, and theological properties to achieve optimum drilling performance.
• Fluid Analysis and Testing: Perform laboratory tests and analysis on drilling fluids to evaluate their properties and ensure they meet industry standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor fluid performance during drilling and make necessary adjustments as conditions change.
• Wellbore Stability and Formation Interaction: Analyze wellbore stability and assess the potential for formation damage caused by drilling fluids. Implement solutions to prevent issues such as wellbore collapse and formation damage.
• Hydraulics and Pressure Management: Calculate and manage hydraulic pressures in the wellbore to avoid drilling problems like lost circulation, blowouts, and differential sticking.
• Environmental and Safety Compliance: Ensure that all drilling fluid operations comply with environmental regulations and industry safety standards. Implement environmentally friendly practices and mitigation measures to minimize environmental impact.
• Cost Optimization: Collaborate with drilling teams and procurement to optimize drilling fluid costs without compromising drilling performance and safety.
• Trouble-shooting and Problem-solving: Address drilling fluid-related issues promptly and efficiently. Analyze and troubleshoot problems to provide effective solutions to unexpected challenges.
• Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of drilling fluid-related data and generate detailed reports on drilling fluid performance, expenses, and any incidents encountered during drilling.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry advancements, new technologies, and best practices in drilling fluid engineering. Implement innovative techniques to enhance drilling efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to drilling teams regarding drilling fluid systems, their proper handling, and contingency procedures.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in drilling fluid engineering or related fields in the oil and gas industry.
• Proficiency in using drilling fluid software and modeling tools.
• Knowledge of drilling operations, downhole conditions, and drilling equipment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• High regard for safety protocols and environmental regulations.
Certificates required:
• Valid Offshore survival
• Offshore medical
• Yellow Fever
•All Flights and Accommodation are arranged

•Day rates vary depending on experience, these range from USD$500/day to $600/day
