Offshore Generator Technician
Our client is seeking an Offshore Generator Technician who will be responsible for installing, testing, inspecting and maintenance of our client’s Generator Fleet in the United Kingdom.
Responsibilities of the Offshore Generator Technician:
- Offshore service and maintenance work on a range of generators, typically 20kVA up to 22kVA.
- Monitoring and maintaining spares and materials required for the works.
- Testing and inspecting a range of generators.
- Organising and segregating waste materials produced from the maintenance.
- Apply fault finding techniques when attending breakdowns.
- Follow risk assessments and method statements.
- Always represent the client in a professional manner.
- Organising tools and other materials to carry out day to day tasks.
- Assist with maintenance and upkeep of the vessel including cleanliness and orderly condition of the crew’s quarters and crew mess.
- Support the Shore Based Manager whenever possible.
- Compiling and completing reports, to include service reports and daily activity reporting.
- Assisting with the mobilisation and de-mobilisation of offshore generators.
- Follow HSE protocols.
- Always work in a safe and professional manner.
- Submit observation cards when necessary (positive and negative).
- Maintain any training certificates critical to the role.
- Assist Refueling Technicians with the refueling of offshore generators.
- Attend any toolbox talks given by the client.
HSEQ:
- Take reasonable care of yourself and any others who may be affected by your work.
- Cooperate on all matters relating to HSEQ.
- Report any incidents, observations or near misses.
- Take care of all work equipment, do not use any defective equipment and report defects immediately.
- Wear any necessary PPE as outlined for works being conducted.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping at all times.
- Comply with risk assessments and method statements relevant to your work and to follow the noted control measures.
Requirements:
- Previous experience of working on offshore wind farms would be beneficial.
- Mechanical or Electrical certificates.
- 5 GWO’s.
- Chester Step certificate.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to think problems through logically.
- Calm and professional manner.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work.
- Confident interpersonal communication skills are important, as well as being a team player.
