Job Description:
A Geophysicist in the oil and gas industry applies geophysical methods to explore and evaluate subsurface formations for hydrocarbon potential. They analyze seismic and other geophysical data to create models of the Earth’s subsurface, helping guide drilling and development decisions. This role is critical in identifying exploration targets and reducing geological uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acquire, process, and interpret seismic and geophysical data

  • Generate subsurface maps and models to support exploration and development

  • Integrate geophysical data with geological and petrophysical information

  • Evaluate prospect risk and resource potential

  • Support drilling teams with geophysical insights and recommendations

  • Ensure data quality and manage geophysical software and databases


  • Experience in participating in technical reviews & able to provide technical assurance on technical works /analysis.
  • Capable of preparing Standards and Guidelines for the Company
  • Experience in provision of Training on subject matters
  • Minimum of 15 years (or more) of relevant geophysics experience covering seismic acquisition/operation, seismic processing, QI & Seismic Interpretation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Pure science, Applied Science, or Engineering from a recognized institution; a master’s degree or higher in a relevant subject is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in exploration or development SI delivery.
  • Experience in integrating geological, geophysical and reservoir engineering data into geotechnical evaluations and reservoir models, including 4D seismic.
  • Proficiency in using geophysics software (SI + QI) applications such as PETREL, GeoX, RokDoc, etc.
  • Collaborate with subsurface team in well planning and operations.
  • Experience in delivering well proposal, FDP and/or FFR.
  • Experience and Involved in CCUS.
