Our global Client is currently seeking experienced MLWD Engineers to support drilling operations onshore and offshore in Gabon. The successful candidates will be responsible for the acquisition, transmission, and interpretation of real-time downhole data using MWD and LWD tools to support safe and efficient drilling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain MWD/LWD tools during drilling operations, ensuring accurate and continuous data acquisition.

  • Monitor and interpret real-time downhole data, including directional surveys, formation evaluation logs, and drilling dynamics.

  • Configure, calibrate, and test surface and downhole sensors prior to and during operations.

  • Provide real-time decision support to drilling and geology teams based on data collected.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve tool failures or data quality issues to minimize non-productive time (NPT).

  • Ensure all tool run data, reports, and logs are accurately documented and submitted post-job.

  • Maintain strong communication with directional drillers, rig personnel, and client representatives.

  • Adhere to company and client HSE standards and ensure tools and equipment are handled safely.

  • Support pre-job planning and post-job debriefs, including lessons learned and performance reviews.

  • Ensure tools are prepared, shipped, and tracked according to operational schedules and logistics planning.


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Engineering, Geosciences, or related field (preferred but not mandatory with relevant experience).

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as an MWD and/or LWD Engineer in the oil and gas sector.

  • Experience working in onshore and offshore drilling environments.

  • Proficient in use of MWD/LWD systems from major service providers (e.g., Schlumberger, Halliburton, Baker Hughes, Weatherford).

  • Familiarity with real-time data transmission systems and rig-site software (e.g., INSITE, RigLink, Drillbench, etc.).

  • Strong understanding of directional drilling principles, formation evaluation, and borehole positioning.

  • Valid BOSIET/HUET, offshore medical, and safety training certificates.
