Offshore Generator Technician
Our client is seeking an Offshore Generator Technician for work in the United States.
The Offshore Generator Technician will be responsible for installing, testing, inspecting and maintenance of our client’s Generator Fleet.
Responsibilities of the Offshore Generator Technician:
- Offshore service and maintenance work on a range of generators, typically 20kVA up to 220kVA.
- Monitoring and maintaining spares and materials required for the works.
- Testing and inspecting a range of generators.
- Organising and segregating waste materials produced from the maintenance of said generator works.
- Apply fault finding techniques when attending breakdowns.
- Work in a safe and professional manner.
- Follow risk assessments, method statements, and client HSE protocols.
- Represent the client in a professional manner.
- Organise tools and other materials to carry out day-to-day tasks.
- Support the Shore Based Manager whenever possible.
- Compile and complete reports, including service reports and daily activity reports.
- Assist with the mobilisation and de-mobilisation of offshore generators.
- Submit observation cards when necessary, both positive and negative.
- Maintain any training certifications critical to the role.
- Assist in the refueling technicians with the refueling of offshore generators.
- Corporate on all matters relating to HSEQ.
- Attend any Toolbox talks given by the client.
- Wear any necessary PPE as outlined for works being conducted.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping at all times.
- Comply with risk assessments and method statements relevant to your work and follow noted control measures.
- Assist with maintenance and upkeep of the vessel, including cleanliness and orderly condition of the crew’s quarters and crew mess.
Requirements:
- Mechanical or Electrical certificates.
- 5 GWO’s.
- Chester Step certificate.
- Previous experience of working on offshore wind farms would be beneficial.
- Confident interpersonal communication skills are important as well as being a team player.
- Strong organization skills and the ability to think problems through logically.
- Calm and professional manner.
