About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced RCV (Rotating Control Valve) / MPD (Managed Pressure Drilling) Supervisor to join our team for onshore drilling operations in Queensland, Australia. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and executing advanced drilling operations using Managed Pressure Drilling and Rotating Control Valve technology. This position is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in MPD, RCV systems, and managing high-pressure drilling operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the installation, operation, and maintenance of RCV systems and MPD equipment.

  • Lead drilling operations in managing wellbore pressure control, preventing kick and loss circulation during drilling, tripping, and casing operations.

  • Ensure the safe and effective use of MPD systems to optimize drilling performance and mitigate well control risks.

  • Coordinate daily operations, including well monitoring, pressure management, and real-time data analysis.

  • Supervise the well site team and liaise with the drilling supervisor and client representatives to ensure alignment on operational goals and safety protocols.

  • Perform real-time analysis and ensure correct set-up and operation of equipment, such as RCV, MPD manifolds, and automated pressure control systems.

  • Conduct pre-job and post-job briefings, ensuring all operations comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

  • Provide continuous support to the drilling team, troubleshooting and resolving equipment or operational issues as they arise.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed operational logs, including performance reports and equipment maintenance records.

  • Oversee the RCV/MPD equipment inventory and ensure readiness for ongoing operations.

  • Mentor and train junior personnel in the safe and effective operation of MPD/RCV systems.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling operations, with a strong focus on MPD and RCV technology.

  • Proven experience as an MPD or RCV Supervisor, or similar roles in onshore/offshore drilling operations.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling principles, equipment, and best practices.

  • Familiarity with RCV systems, including their operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

  • In-depth understanding of pressure management, well control, and kick detection/prevention.

  • Certifications required:

    • Valid BOSIET, First Aid, Well Control (IWCF or IADC), and drilling safety certificates.

    • High-Risk Work License (if applicable).

  • Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and team coordination.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrating problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
