RCV / MPD Supervisor
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced RCV (Rotating Control Valve) / MPD (Managed Pressure Drilling) Supervisor to join our team for onshore drilling operations in Queensland, Australia. The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing and executing advanced drilling operations using Managed Pressure Drilling and Rotating Control Valve technology. This position is ideal for individuals with hands-on experience in MPD, RCV systems, and managing high-pressure drilling operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Supervise the installation, operation, and maintenance of RCV systems and MPD equipment.

Lead drilling operations in managing wellbore pressure control, preventing kick and loss circulation during drilling, tripping, and casing operations.

Ensure the safe and effective use of MPD systems to optimize drilling performance and mitigate well control risks.

Coordinate daily operations, including well monitoring, pressure management, and real-time data analysis.

Supervise the well site team and liaise with the drilling supervisor and client representatives to ensure alignment on operational goals and safety protocols.

Perform real-time analysis and ensure correct set-up and operation of equipment, such as RCV, MPD manifolds, and automated pressure control systems.

Conduct pre-job and post-job briefings, ensuring all operations comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Provide continuous support to the drilling team, troubleshooting and resolving equipment or operational issues as they arise.

Maintain accurate and detailed operational logs, including performance reports and equipment maintenance records.

Oversee the RCV/MPD equipment inventory and ensure readiness for ongoing operations.

Mentor and train junior personnel in the safe and effective operation of MPD/RCV systems.
Requirements:

Minimum 5 years of experience in drilling operations, with a strong focus on MPD and RCV technology.

Proven experience as an MPD or RCV Supervisor, or similar roles in onshore/offshore drilling operations.

Strong technical knowledge of Managed Pressure Drilling principles, equipment, and best practices.

Familiarity with RCV systems, including their operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

In-depth understanding of pressure management, well control, and kick detection/prevention.

Certifications required:

Valid BOSIET, First Aid, Well Control (IWCF or IADC), and drilling safety certificates.

High-Risk Work License (if applicable).

Strong communication skills, leadership abilities, and team coordination.

Ability to work effectively under pressure, demonstrating problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
