Offshore Support Technician

Our client is looking for a skilled Offshore Support Technician for work in the United States.

Responsibilities of the Offshore Support Technician:

  • Carrying out Refueling Operations on offshore generators.
  • Assisting the Offshore Generator Technician with the maintenance of a range of generators, spares and materials.
  • Organising and segregating waste materials produced from the maintenance of generator works.
  • Follow risk assessment and method statements.
  • Assisting the Offshore Generator Technician test and inspect the range of generators.
  • Support the shore-based Manager whenever possible.
  • Organising tools and other materials to carry out day to day tasks.
  • Assisting with the mobilisation and de-mobilisation of offshore generators.
  • Submitting observation cards when necessary – both positive and negative.
  • Monitor and renew any training certificates critical to the role.
  • Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the vessel including cleanliness and orderly condition of the deck, crew's quarters, crew mess, etc.
  • Liaise with the Master on tasks being carried out onboard the vessel.
  • Always follow the client's HSE protocols.

  • Cooperate all matters relating to HSEQ.
  • Comply with risk assessments and method statements relevant to your work, and to follow the noted control measures.
  • Report any incidents, observations or near misses to the needed people.
  • Take care of all work equipment.
  • Wear any necessary PPE as outlined for works being conducted.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working on an offshore wind farm would be beneficial.
  • Confident interpersonal communication skills are important as well as being a team player.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to think problems through logically.
  • Calm and professional manner.
  • Flexible and adaptable approach to work.

Qualifications:

  • 5 GWOs – Working at Height, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, First Aid, Sea Survival.
  • Medical OGUK Knowledge and Experience.
