Upstream We are seeking experienced Rhino Underreamer Operators / Underreaming Specialists to support oil and gas projects across the ACE region.
The successful candidates will have specialist experience in Rhino underreaming systems, with preference given to candidates with previous SLB experience and proven hands-on competency with Rhino XS2, XM and XM Wired systems.
Candidates should have strong operational knowledge of underreaming and hole enlargement activities, excellent HSE awareness and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary drilling and well services team.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and support Rhino underreaming systems during drilling and well construction operations.
- Set up, function-test, deploy and operate underreaming equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
- Demonstrate competency with Rhino XS2, XM and XM Wired systems.
- Provide technical and operational support for hole enlargement and underreaming operations.
- Monitor equipment performance and operational parameters throughout the job.
- Identify, troubleshoot and resolve equipment or operational issues where required.
- Work closely with the Drilling Engineer, Directional Driller, Driller, Wellsite Supervisor and other service personnel.
- Assist with pre-job planning, equipment preparation and operational readiness checks.
- Conduct pre-job and post-job inspections of underreaming equipment.
- Ensure equipment is correctly configured and prepared for the planned well programme.
- Maintain accurate operational records, job reports and equipment documentation.
- Communicate operational status, equipment performance and any issues to the relevant supervisor or client representative.
- Participate in toolbox talks, risk assessments, pre-job meetings and post-job reviews.
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with company procedures, client requirements and applicable industry standards.
- Maintain a strong focus on equipment integrity, well integrity and safe operational practices.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience as a Rhino Underreamer Operator / Underreaming Specialist.
- Previous experience with Rhino underreaming technology.
- Hands-on competency with Rhino XS2 and/or XM systems.
- Experience with XM Wired will be highly advantageous.
- Previous SLB experience is preferred.
- Proven experience in oil and gas well construction and drilling operations.
- Strong understanding of underreaming, hole enlargement and associated wellbore operations.
- Ability to read and understand well programmes, job procedures and technical documentation.
- Strong HSE awareness and commitment to safe working practices.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary drilling and well services teams.
- Willingness to work on both onshore and offshore projects, as required.
- Relevant industry training and certifications.
