Renewables Senior Authorised Person
We are recruiting for a Senior Authorised Person for work in United States.
Responsibilities of the Senior Authorised Person:
- Implementation of the electrical safety rules on site, including the safe system of work.
- Advise operationally on high voltage electrical installations to WTG, offshore substations and both HV submarine and onshore cables.
- Oversee safe commissioning of grid connections, onshore substations and associated MV/HV/LV plant and equipment.
- Act as a senior authorised person on the project.
- Carry out switching operations and lock out on LV and HV equipment.
- Oversee all MV/HV/LV electrical operational activities to ensure safety, security, and integrity of the HV network.
- Contribute to proactive management, good coordination, and communication between all parties to ensure the process works effectively.
- Outage management and network control in collaboration with the Control Engineers.
- Update MV/HV/LV schematic diagrams.
- Inspect work sites and perform site safety inspections and auditing for electrical matters.
- Coordinate MV/HV/LV commissioning activities through the project construction stages.
- Prepare and check high voltage switching schedules.
- Check method statements for electrical matters.
- Implement and provide training programmes for relevant staff according to the rules.
- Provide technical and engineering advice to working parties for electrical matters.
- Coordinate with the Lead Commissioning Project Manager to ensure that accurate updates are distributed to the Project Management.
- Assist different departments when required.
Requirements:
- Appropriate electrical qualification and background related to the authorised scope.
- Several years of operation and commissioning experience within the field of high voltage electricity, offshore experience preferable.
- Minimum of 3 years of working experience within onshore substations system.
- Able to pass GWO and HUET with CA-EBS course (climbing gear person weight limit – 120kg/246lb).
Additional Information:
- Rotation work will be 14 days on, 14 days off.
- Work duration is for 2 years, with a 6 month extension.
- Start date is 1/6/2025 and end date is 12/31/2025.
- Course will be paid for by client, but will be deducted from final pay if contract is terminated by candidate or agency within 1 year.
