Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our clients team in Oman for a cutting-edge project aimed at transforming engineering processes using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing and deploying an AI-driven solution designed to automate the extraction of critical data fields from project drawings across various phases (AFD, AFC, ASB). This solution will streamline the Red Line Markup (RLMU) process and integrate seamlessly with PDO’s internal systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and evaluate data usage and its value to customers, ensuring its alignment with business needs.
- Identify critical areas for focus, ensuring project outcomes align with business objectives.
- Define the project value chain and scope of work to avoid scope creep, while identifying additional opportunities for improvement.
- Serve as the liaison between customer Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and the core technology team, ensuring effective communication and project alignment.
Project Scope & Objective:
This project aims to develop and deploy an AI-driven solution that will automate the extraction of engineering data and attributes from AutoCAD drawings. By integrating AI into the analysis of these drawings, the solution will optimize the template creation process, improve accuracy, and enhance operational efficiency. The key objective is to address current delays and obstacles in the Red Line Markup (RLMU) process, enabling quicker delivery of As-built drawings and timely completion of the Asset Register for successful project close-out.
The integration of AI and ML will drive significant improvements in project efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure timely delivery of critical data, essential for safe operations and project completion. The role will also focus on transforming the current RLMU process to prevent delays that could affect project close-out and asset integrity.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Senior Civil Engineer with a background in AI/ML-driven project implementation (preferred).
- Strong understanding of engineering data, project phases (AFD, AFC, ASB), and construction documentation (AutoCAD).
- Ability to manage complex project scopes, ensure timely delivery, and work cross-functionally with internal and external teams.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively between customers, SMEs, and technology teams.
