Oilfield Services Water Boss
Our global client is currently seeking an experienced and skilled Water Boss to oversee and manage water-related operations, including dredging, sinker, and floating pipeline installations in Saudi Arabia.
Responsibilities of the Water Boss:
- Ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all water-related aspects of dredging projects.
- Oversee all aspects of waterworks, including the installation and management of sinker and floating pipelines, pumps, and related infrastructure.
- Lead and coordinate the management of water transport systems critical to dredging operations, ensuring the pipelines are installed, maintained, and repaired efficiently.
- Supervise water intake, discharge operations, and ensure optimal flow rates during dredging activities.
- Plan, schedule, and monitor all water-related works to align with project timelines and specifications.
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Dredging Superintendents, and engineering teams to ensure water operations are fully integrated with overall project goals.
- Develop water system designs and operational plans to ensure dredging activities are supported by reliable water transport and discharge systems.
- Manage the flow of water throughout the project, including control of water levels, dredged material handling, and coordination with survey teams to ensure design depths and project specifications are met.
- Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and local authorities regarding water infrastructure.
- Manage the installation, operation, and maintenance of sinker and floating pipelines used in dredging and reclamation projects.
- Oversee the setup of pipeline layouts, ensuring proper positioning and safety measures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline issues, including leaks, blockages, or wear and tear.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and repairs of water pipelines to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Marine or related field), or an equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in dredging, sinker, and floating pipeline operations.
- Extensive hands-on experience and technical expertise in managing complex water operations, and coordinating with project teams to meet operational, safety, and environmental standards.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to oversee water teams and large-scale operations.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, particularly in waterworks, pipelines, and related mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of relevant HSE regulations, environmental standards, and marine regulations.
- Good communication skills for interfacing with project teams, external contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple activities in a dynamic work environment.
