Project: Well Decompletion & Sidetrack Campaign
Duration: 2–3 Months (Offshore Rotation)
Shift Pattern: Day or Night Shift

Role Purpose

The WCC Technician supports offshore well completion and intervention operations during a well decompletion and sidetrack campaign. The role involves assisting with the preparation, handling, testing, and deployment of subsea well completion equipment, ensuring all activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in line with operational procedures and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support well decompletion activities, including recovery of completion equipment, subsea trees, and wellhead components.
  • Assist with retrieval and installation of subsea production equipment during sidetrack and recompletion operations.
  • Prepare, inspect, assemble, and test subsea completion equipment and associated running tools.
  • Support offshore deployment and recovery of equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Carry out function testing, pressure testing, and verification of equipment readiness.
  • Ensure all equipment is correctly configured, maintained, and fully traceable.
  • Maintain accurate operational logs, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
  • Assist in fault finding, troubleshooting, and resolution of equipment-related issues offshore.
  • Work closely with offshore supervisors, drilling teams, ROV crews, and client representatives to ensure safe and efficient execution of operations.
  • Participate in risk assessments, toolbox talks, and HSE compliance activities.
  • Adhere to all offshore safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Project Scope

The successful candidate will support:

  • Recovery of subsea completion equipment.
  • Recovery of horizontal subsea tree systems.
  • Recovery of wellhead components (STC-10 system or equivalent).
  • Support during sidetrack drilling operations.
  • Installation of new subsea tree systems.
  • Installation and testing of new completion equipment.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Offshore experience in well completion, intervention, or subsea operations.
  • Knowledge of subsea production systems and completion equipment.
  • Experience with subsea trees, wellheads, and running tools.
  • Understanding of hydraulic, mechanical, and pressure control systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding ability.
  • Experience working in offshore multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong focus on safety and operational discipline.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with horizontal subsea tree systems.
  • Experience with STC-type wellhead systems or equivalent.
  • Previous involvement in decompletion, recompletion, or sidetrack operations.
  • Background in subsea service, intervention, or field operations.

Certifications

  • Valid Offshore Survival Certificate (BOSIET/FOET or equivalent)
  • Valid Offshore Medical Certificate
  • Vantage Card/Number
  • MIST (or regional offshore safety training equivalent)
  • Relevant mechanical, hydraulic, or subsea technical qualification preferred
  • Additional offshore certifications advantageous
