Upstream The Chief Operator – Well Testing is responsible for leading offshore well testing operations in deepwater environments, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of testing programs. This role oversees equipment setup, operation, and maintenance while coordinating with offshore crews and onshore teams to deliver accurate well data and meet project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise well testing operations, including flowback, clean-up, and sampling activities
- Ensure compliance with all HSE policies, procedures, and industry standards
- Manage installation, operation, and troubleshooting of well testing equipment
- Coordinate daily operations with offshore installation teams and support functions
- Monitor well performance data and ensure accurate reporting and documentation
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior operators and crew members
- Participate in risk assessments, job safety analyses, and operational planning
- Maintain equipment integrity and ensure proper maintenance practices
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in well testing operations, including significant offshore deepwater exposure
- Proven leadership experience in a Chief Operator or senior supervisory role
- Strong technical knowledge of well testing equipment and processes
- Solid understanding of offshore HSE standards and best practices
- Ability to work in high-pressure, remote offshore environments
- Excellent communication and team coordination skills
Qualifications:
- Relevant technical certification or engineering background preferred
- Offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET, medical, survival training) required
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Work Environment:
- Offshore rotational role in deepwater operations
- Physically demanding conditions with extended shifts
