David Alexander
I joined the business in 2012 and my role is a Managing Consultant, working globally with clients in drilling disciplines.
In 2014 I had the fantastic opportunity to relocate to Houston, Texas for six months to support the opening of our USA office. My wife also works at Visuna and we have a seven year old son together. Outside of work my interests are photography, travelling and live music. Prior to working here, I’ve held the position of Branch/Department Manager for some of the largest retail and FM companies in the UK.
It changes everyday! Communicating with new and existing clients, with sourcing of potential candidates for new requirements.
I love finding and developing client/consultant relationships. Plus, I really enjoy helping colleagues and sharing my knowledge with them.
People, particularly the communication aspect. Simply nothing can work without it being consistent and transparent, and it leads into a lot of other values too.
Listen before you speak and research as much as possible.
My goal is to be a Regional Manager, followed by a Director at one of our overseas locations.

Farah Burton
I’ve been a Purchase Order Coordinator at Visuna for a little over 4 years. Before this, I had a variety of jobs in Financial Services and also worked with horses and for a veterinary surgery. I love to read and eat, especially Thai and Spanish food! I also love to travel as often as possible.
My main responsibilities are to liaise with colleagues and clients to resolve PO queries, provide reconciliations to clients regarding POs received and required and to report on outstanding POs. I also prepare SOWs (client contracts).
A typical working day at Visuna involves responding to many queries, inputting PO information onto our internal systems, monitoring email inboxes and lots of caffeine!
The thing I love most about my job is the satisfaction from resolving a difficult /ongoing issue and implementing new processes. I enjoy solving problems.
One of Visuna's values that is most important to me is 'people' as people contribute to the success of any business and I'm lucky to work with some excellent colleagues.
Over the next 3 years, I would like to move into management and use my experience and knowledge to support staff and contribute to the growth of Visuna. I would also love the opportunity to experience working/travelling to some of Visuna's international locations.

Sarah Girdwood
I’m a Management Accountant and have worked here for almost 11 years. My main responsibilities are reviewing the monthly accounts and ensuring that everything is recorded accurately, looking after payroll for our Australia office and liaising with our various entities’ auditors. I also assist colleagues with ad hoc queries.
I enjoy going to the gym and eating out but mostly I enjoy spending time with my little girl and having days out with the family and our Frenchie, Bailey.
Every day is different in the finance department. We have set monthly tasks that need to be completed to ensure the accounts are issued accurately and in a timely manner but on a day-to-day basis I often assist colleagues from various departments with finance queries.
I love that it isn’t repetitive, and you can still be learning something new in your job – even after 11 years of working here! We have opened different entities in other countries over the years, so you need to learn about their way of doing things and ensure you comply with their laws.
Growth – I think it’s important that the company grows for job security, but within that the staff can also grow and progress within their roles. I started off in a processing role and have progressed over the years to a Management Accountant and hopefully it doesn’t stop there as we grow and expand into new sectors. It’s exciting being part of a company which has aspirations of growth and long-term goals.
The recent pandemic was a difficult time, as travel came to a halt which is a vital part of our mobilisation service. Since travel restrictions were lifted and normal service resumed, it didn’t take long before we were busier than we have ever been before as clients were keen to get things moving again. We know that there is going to be a shift to green energy in years to come and that’s why it’s important for us as a company to assist clients in these areas also.
As the company grows, I’d like to see myself in a more senior role and am looking forward to undertaking additional training that assists in achieving that.

Klaire Cave
I joined the business in 2013 as a Coordinator. After taking maternity leave with my twins in 2016, I returned as a Recruitment Consultant. I recruit for roles in as many locations as possible because I love the variety it brings, and I have some excellent clients.
Being here is like working with family, whether that’s my clients or my colleagues. I have many conversations with a range of people on a daily basis. Every day is different at Visuna and I would not have it any other way.
I enjoy being busy and finding new locations to recruit in.
Do not give up. Starting out is hard, but it’s very rewarding.
I am looking to develop my clients in the Middle East so I am sure a trip to Saudi Arabia is coming up for me. I hope to see that I have met many more clients across the world and I would like to be known as one of the top recruiters in the company!

Laura Hird
I’ve been with Visuna for over 11 years and have been working as a Recruitment Consultant for the last 7 of those. I predominantly recruit for roles in the Middle East, so I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Saudi Arabia on client visits and hope to do so again soon. I joined the company after completing a Business Studies course at Northumbria University in Newcastle. I have 2 year old twin boys who I love to spend the rest of my time with.
My days are very busy! I speak to clients to determine their personnel requirements and contact suitable candidates to check availability for work prior to submitting their CVs. My time is spent discussing roles and job descriptions with candidates, arranging interviews and once candidates are selected, collating their documents and providing updates to the client on progress.
No days are the same and the high volume of work means that days go extremely fast.
I love calling clients, building a rapport with them and assisting with their requirements to help their operations run more efficiently.
Honesty – I believe in supporting your colleagues, clients and customers the best that you can.
It’s a fast paced environment and with hard work it can be very rewarding. You really get a sense of achievement when you secure candidates for a client and help their projects run more smoothly.
I’m currently supporting some of my colleagues with growing their areas. I would love to have a new Recruitment Consultant working with me so that I can help them develop in their role. I’d love to be a Team Leader with Visuna in the future.
