A major service company was having difficulty mobilising four workover rigs to recomplete an oilfield in Zubair, near Basra, Iraq. The client did not have access to suitable personnel with the correct knowledge and experience of how to move the rigs and safely complete the installation at the wellsites, so we provided recruitment for workover rigs in addition to global mobility services.
The Solution
We recruited a full team of project management personnel to assist the client in completing the project within deadline.
The team initially commissioned the rigs in the pipe yard and then went on to mobilise them to various workover sites. All personnel were selected and mobilised by Visuna using the client’s defined quality standards. We also supported the client and consultants through the organisation of payment of local taxes, accommodation for permanent and rotational personnel, visas and international transportation. In addition, we ensured that suitable levels of security and insurance were provided.
Over a period of three months, all four rigs were successfully commissioned and moved to the first set of wells requiring workover. Our team continued to supervise operations during the workover of the first four wells. Our personnel then successfully trained a team of local supervisors, toolpushers and drillers on how to erect, lay down and move the rigs safely and efficiently.
